Lodge - Cheshire, Merseyside & East Clwyd
Rowlands Lodge is one of the leading 16mm Narrow Gauge layouts on the exhibition circuit today.
The layout is 36 feet long by 10 foot wide, it can be viewed on all sides and is fully scenic . The scenic work is constantly being updated and improved. The layout is self standing and although mostly operated by live steam an electricity supply is required to operate the lights and other accessories.
The main line is mostly operated by live steam locos with an additional branch line using Battery powered model IC engines.
The layout has attended many exhibitions over the last few years and is very popular with the general public and enthusiasts alike.
The steam locomotives are mostly hand built either by small manufacturers or by their owners and the rolling stock is often kit or scratch built from wood and metal
The group members live in various parts of Cheshire, Merseyside and Clwyd and travel with their locos and rolling stock to run on the layout at exhibitions. Because of this a large variety of engines can be seen at each exhibition.
The layout was constructed and is operated by the Cheshire, Mersey & East Clwyd 16mm Narrow Gauge Group
