- Malcolm Savage This station represents the
junction that would have taken place between the Moel
Siabod Tramway and the North Wales Narrow Gauge Railway's
proposed line from Beddgelert to Betwyscoed.
Had the latter ever been
built, the quarry had hoped to make a direct connection
with the new line.
Connection with the North
Wales Narrow Gauge Railway would undoubtedly have brought
about an increase in production at the quarry and an
improvement in the tramway. For the purposes of this
layout we have assumed this to be the case.
The station building is
typical of the North Wales Narrow Gauge Railway as is the
signal box. There is a carriage siding for
terminating passenger trains, either quarryman's or
excursion, and a small yard for local freight. The quarry
branch comes in from the left and close by is a small
loco shed provided by the quarry for its own
locomotives.
A variety of trains can be
seen from a number of railways although the Festiniog
Railway predominates.
