Long
Ditton - John Thorne This small layout was built as a concept of what could be achieved using only half a sheet of Sundela (4ft x 1ft) plus a small fiddle yard. Long Ditton is the end of a small country narrow gauge line. The layout features a small station, goods shed, engine shed and two sidings running into an industrial warehouse. Peco track is used throughout and a feature of the layout is the wide range of scratch-built locomotives and rolling stock. Regarding buildings, very little is built as it comes out of the box! They are a mixture of scratch-built and modified kits resulting in a wealth of small detail to capture that "narrow gauge atmosphere". The intention is to develop the layout in due course and the second module featuring a canal side wharf is currently under construction. The layout is operated by members of the 009 Society Surrey Group. Email Len Russell for more details. |
