The layout is a much compressed model of Glynceriog Station, the passenger terminal of the Glynn Valley Tramway. The line continues to the Granite Quarry, whilst the line to the Slate Quarry carries on up to the village.

Baseboards are constructed from plywood with Peco track laid directly on the baseboards.

Hills on the layout are constructed from polystyrene blocks covered in grass mat, the trees and foliage are from Helki and Woodland Scenics. Buildings are constructed from plastic and card. Engines and rolling stock are a mixture of kit-built and scratchbuilt running on N gauge chassis.
