Semerdale Railway - D
A Naylor A totally,
well almost, scratch built layout constructed to the
odd-ball scale of 1/8" to one foot (1/96). British
TT scale is 3mm to one foot (1/100). Track gauge is
1/4", 6.35mm gauge. Marklin Z gauge is 6.5mm. The
builder found it was the smallest possible scale in which
he could construct a 2 foot narrow gauge railway. The key
to anything smaller is motors and wheels.
The layout is inspired
after several trips to Semerwater near Hawes. Imaginary
traffic is threefold - general traffic to and from a
large village and the surrounding farms, timber from the
freight only branch and seasonal passenger traffic to the
area in summer.
